The Prague-Dejvice railway station was built in 1831. During the First Czechoslovak Republic, President Tomáš G. Masaryk used this station for his travels to the Lány Chateau. From the original first-class waiting room, a presidential lounge was established, complete with an access ramp and a private platform. Later presidents did not use the lounge, choosing instead to travel to Lány by car. In the early 1960s, the lounge was rebuilt in a socialist realist style and remained closed to the public until 2008, when an extensive renovation of the entire station was completed. Today, the renovated lounge hosts exhibitions, presentations, lectures, and social events. The station also preserves an air-raid shelter from World War II.
