Vinohradská 2165/48, Praha 2

The palace was constructed in 1929 by Emanuel Maceška, a renowned meat producer from Prague. The building accommodated one of the company’s manufacturing units and a café with a wine bar. It was also home to a very modern cinema, the Maceška Biograph, with 930 seats, a 16-piece silent film orchestra, and even sound equipment. In 1948, the Maceška cinema and the rest of the property were nationalised, and the cinema was renamed Bio Illusion two years later. The cinema was shut down in 2006, along with the neighbouring Radio Palace cinema, and was later replaced by a new cultural venue called Theatre ROYAL.
