Built between 1936 and 1937, this functionalist residential building was designed by architect Richard Podzemný for the Zemská Banka (Provincial Bank). Artists from the School of Applied Arts in Prague contributed to the interior decoration. The building is a protected cultural monument and is owned by the City District of Prague 6. On the ground floor, you’ll find a ceremonial hall and the exhibition space of Galerie Skleňák, named after the popular nickname for the building. Regular exhibitions here focus on historical and contemporary architecture, urbanism, land development, and city planning, with links to public art and design.
