The priestly seminary of the Prague diocese prepares seminarians for priestly ministry in one of the dioceses of the Czech Church Province. The seminary has been located in its current building in Dejvice since 1929, with forced interruptions during 1939–1945, when it was temporarily moved to Dolní Břežany, and from 1953–1990, when it operated in Litoměřice. Until 2017, the seminary was part of Charles University, and it currently maintains close cooperation with the university’s Catholic Theological Faculty. Since 2018, the seminary has functioned as an independent ecclesiastical legal entity established by the Archdiocese of Prague.
