BOOK

DRAGO JANČAR kniha A láska samotná

The year is 1941. The Slovenian town of Maribor is annexed to the Third Reich and renamed Marburg an der Drau. Neighbors and families are torn apart as resistance groups form in the nearby hills. One day, Sonja, a young woman, runs into an old family acquaintance—the man who once rescued her from the snow while skiing. Back then, she called him Ludek, but now he is Ludwig Mischkolnig, a stern SS officer. Though he treats her coldly, Sonja has a favor to ask… but what will she be willing to sacrifice in return?
