La Fabrika – Foundry

This multifunctional cultural centre focuses on audiovisual projects, theatre and dance productions requiring unconventional spatial solutions, performances, lectures, workshops, as well as social gatherings, exhibitions, concerts, and traditional theatre productions. The complex was created through the conversion and redevelopment of several early 20th-century factory buildings located between Dělnická, Komunardů, and Přístavní streets, based on designs by the KAVA architectural studio. The main venue was created by transforming a hall belonging to the former Richter Machinery Works in 2007. Five years later, a second hall opened on the site of the former Karel Bendelmayer artistic cast-iron foundry. Its industrial origins give La Fabrika a distinctive charm and originality.
