DOX Centre for Contemporary Art

Gulliver Airship

Poupětova 1

This unique architectural intervention hovers above the building of the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art and has become one of its most distinctive symbols. It was created from an idea by DOX founder Leoš Válka and designed by architect Martin Rajniš, combining architecture, literature, and contemporary art. Inspired by the airships of the early 20th century, symbols of technological progress and the desire to push boundaries, the airship evokes a world of imagination, discovery, and utopian visions. It serves as an original venue for literary readings, author presentations, discussions, exhibitions, and educational programmes, and has become a meeting place for different artistic disciplines. It brings together contemporary architecture and cultural dialogue while fostering creativity, empathy, and critical thinking. It is also home to FALL, a festival of art, literature, and education, whose 2026 edition will take place from 1–4 October 2026 at www.doxfall.cz.
