Danish author Tine Høeg (* 1985) has made a name for herself with a highly unconventional style. She arranges terse comments and thoughts, heavy with emotion and meaning, into short, almost poetic stanzas. She writes about utterly ordinary experiences without the ballast of verbal psychologizing or descriptions, yet her texts cut deep beneath the surface. Both her debut novel, New Passengers (2017), and her second novel, Tour de Chambre (2020), have been adapted into stage plays at the Danish National Theater. In 2022, her third novel, Sult (Hunger), was published – a story about the effects of infertility treatment on a person, an artist, and the body which has also been adapted into a film.
