Museum of Literature

Memorial of National Literature

Pelléova 44/22, Bubeneč

The Museum of Literature is housed in one of three villas in Bubeneč belonging to the Petschek family, bankers and industrialists. The villa, dating from the 1930s, is an example of the eclectic architectural style. In 2006, the house and related grounds were taken over by the Memorial of National Literature, and the building was opened to the public as the Museum of Literature in 2022. The ground floor features a long-term exhibition of modern Czech literature and spaces for occasional exhibitions. The villa also includes a program hall, a literary café, study rooms, and specialist workplaces. On the first floor is the central study room of the PNP collection, offering facilities for studying archives and collection items. The museum is unique in the Czech Republic.
